Children & Youth

We want our children and youth to know that they are all “Beloved Children of God!”

We have a paid nursery attendant and church school volunteers who enjoy teaching kids. Nursery care is provided for the youngest children (infants and preschoolers) every Sunday morning at 10:15 am until the end of worship service.

Children and youth sit with their families to participate in the first 15-20 minutes of the morning worship service before leaving to spend the remainder of the service (about 40-45 minutes) in Church School. It is okay if a child or youth wants to remain in the worship service with their family which is especially common when attending a new church. We provide quiet activities (a clipboard with coloring sheets and puzzles) and have a children’s library full of books to read and check out at the back of the sanctuary.

On the first Sunday of every month, children and youth return to the worship service to participate in the sacred ritual of communion. Classes are grouped by age levels (primary and upper elementary, middle and high school). Church school consists of teaching Bible passages, leading discussions, and fun hands-on activities such as crafts, music, and drama. Each year our youth select a different non-profit organization and raise money with the assistance of the congregation for that particular organization.

As part of the Pacific Northwest Conference of the United Church of Christ we also have two beautiful church camps: Pilgrim Firs (near Port Orchard, WA) and N-Sid-Sen (near Coeur d’Alene, ID). Both camps offer faith-based, fun-filled week-long programs for children, youth, and families in the summer (scholarships available).
