1979-80s – Families began meeting together to worship, and by 1984, built the current building. The dramatic Christus sculpture on the front of the church was designed by founding Minister Robert Haertig. Symbolic of this “Band of Many Persons,” each component piece was hammered by a founding member of the congregation, then mounted together to create our “Dancing Jesus.”
1990s – Young and talented families formed a powerful music and arts ministry and added an education building.
2000s – In 2006 the congregation invited Tent City 4 to reside on its property for 3 months. After pushback from the city of Woodinville, Northshore UCC persisted and sued the city of Woodinville. The state Supreme Court found in favor of the church’s right to minister to the homeless by providing space for Tent City on church property. Our faith community has served organized non-profit homeless camps several times since then.
2010s – Developed progressive Christian education with the Our Whole Lives (OWL) curriculum for junior and senior high students. Paid off mortgages!
2020s – Continued to serve people without housing by hosting a tent camp and assisting with other housing emergencies. We survived COVID by meeting the moment on Zoom, and we continue to offer worship on Zoom. In May 2025, we celebrated our 45th year as a faith community.
